  CHAPTER THREE

3:1. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Research Design is a descriptive survey, since It seeks to identify teacher’s attitude towards writing of lesson notes by getting the opinions of respondents, which will enable the researcher to reach specific conclusions.
Research population
The research population is made up of five primary schools in Ilorin metropolis of kwara state. It is on those schools that the results of the research works are generalized/
3:2 Sample and Sampling techniques
Sample refers to a fair representation of the population in a particular research effort, In this study by the means of stratified random sampling techniques five schools were selected out of all primary schools, Ilorin metropolis.
The Schools are as follows:-
1. L.G.E.A Primary School,Ilorin
2. Methodist Primary School, Ilorin
3. United Primary School Taiwo Road,Ilorin
4. Stephen Fountain Of Knowledge Primary School,Ilorin and
5. Sheikh Alimi Primary School,Sawmill, Ilorin
Moreover, twenty teachers were randomly selected from each school, giving a total of one hundred respondents in all

3:3 Research Instrument
A research instrument is any acceptable tools tha can be utilized for collecting informations in a research work. (Best,1999).
In this study, the research Instrument is titled “Teachers attitude towards writing of lesson notes questionnaire”. It is divided into two sections,’A’ and ‘B’
Section ‘A’ contains a few items that eventually deals with personal information only while section ‘B’ comprises of items that specifically deals with teachers attitude towards writing lesson notes.
The items in section ‘B’ are further classified into three categories that correspond to the three research Question s. Respondents are required to underline the relevant options in Section ‘A’ while they are to tick their chosen option in section ‘B’
3:4. Validity of the instrument
Validity of an instrument is the extent to which the instrument measure what it claims to measure. In this study, after the instrument is been preoared, it was submitted o teachers that are highly skilled in educational research, including the supervisor. These experts went through the instrument, correct and the researcher eventually came up with acceptable items. Hence, the instrument achieved faced or content validity.
3:5. Reliability of the instrument
Daramola  (1995),are instrument is the degree of consistency of such as instrument in the study, a plot study first took place by selecting thirty respondent from the population but outside the actual sample , They were given copies of the instrument to respondent.
Thereafter, the two sets of responses were scored and sub-sequently to the Pearson product movement correlation coefficient formula in order to determine their extent of their relationship. The coefficient of correlation obtained was 0.81, indicating that the instrument achieved very high test-retest.
3:6. Administration of the instrument
The researcher personally paid visits to the sampled schools to administer the instrument with the assistance of head teachers, Assistance head teachers, heads of department and councilor’s copies of the instrument were efficiently administered. The Researcher came back after a few days to retrieve all the one hundred (copies) of each given out.
3:7. Data Analysis
The response of the research subjects were collated and then subjected to frequent counts and percentages, being results on the opinions of the majority of the respondents.
