4:3. Discussion
From the responses of the research subjects, it is necessary for the new and experienced teachers to write lesson notes. According to them writing of lesson notes should not be reserved exclusively for those on teaching practice or the newly employed teachers. They were of the view that no matter your status or experience anyone who is to teach any class should prepare lesson notes. It is only by this that productive teaching and learning can take place.
Furthermore, although the research subjects were of the view that it is necessary to include all small details in lesson note writing, the experience ones should write only on abridge lesson notes.
The respondents are of the opinion that only new ones and, those on teaching practice needs to write detailed lesson notes. According to the respondents including all small details inside a lesson notes is very boring and tiring.
Finally, although the respondents were not averse to the writing of lesson notes, they were of the view that when lesson note are full of red ink corrections, it looks disgraceful to them. It makes them feel inadequate and shameful. They were however, of the view that correcting teacher’s lesson notes promotes efficiency, effectiveness and competence of such teacher
